T. V.Moorthy M.Sc., Ph.D., President, Founder
The Company was founded in 2006 by Dr. Moorthy. Dr. Moorthy is a scientist with 35 years of experience in molecular biology. He holds numerous patents in a variety of fields covering three other platform technologies unrelated to MultiGEN. He received his training in Molecular biology from University of Uppsala, Sweden and the University of Alberta, Canada. He previously held the position of Head of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Some of his research includes identification of new trimethoprim resistance gene, cloning of glycogen de-branching enzyme, molecular characterization of the first melanoma associated human structural gene - Calnexin and novel hybridoma technology. He has more than 50 research publications and has been awarded five international fellowships. Dr. Moorthy is the principal intellectual force behind the development of MultiGEN technology, and has managed biotech companies for more than 15 years. He has been President Elect of the Rotary club of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, member of the University Senate and Chairman sports advisory committee (University of Jaffna Sri Lanka), member of the President's Council, University of Alberta, Adjunct Professor Department of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan Saskatoon and Visiting Professor Central Michigan University, Michigan.
Dr. Roger Hodkinson MA MB.BChir, FRCP(C) Director, Clinical Affairs
Dr. Hodkinson is a Pathologist by training and Director of Clinical Affairs of MultiGEN Diagnostics Inc. He was previously the CEO of Stirrat Laboratories, a large retail-oriented diagnostic medical laboratory in Alberta, Canada. Dr. Hodkinson is a Past President of the Alberta Society of Laboratory Physicians (ASLP), which represents pathologists in Alberta, Canada and has acted as a laboratory accreditation inspector. He is a co-author of a number of articles based on MultiGEN technology and holds medical degrees from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Joseph Voland. MD Medical Director
Dr. Joseph Voland received his MD from Ohio State University in 1978. He pursued residency training in pathology at The University of California at San Diego and at The Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. He is a Board Certified Pathologist with exceptional experience in modern molecular medicine. Dr. Voland’s previous experience includes 12 years at the UCSD Cancer Center applying molecular biology to the study of cancer and immunology. As Director of Immunopathology at BD Biosciences, he developed an immunohistochemistry program focusing on markers for immunology and cancer. At Johnson & Johnson, Dr. Voland was involved with clinical trials for cancer. As Vice president for Bioanalytical Services at Chromavision (now Clarient) he worked with several biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies developing diagnostic assays for cancer and autoimmunity. He has acted as a medical consultant to the biotechnology community in San Diego for the past 20 years.
Nancy Kachel. Director, Business Development
As the former President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma (PPAEO), Inc., Nancy worked locally and nationally to promote sexuality education and reproductive health care for men and women.
Under Nancy’s direction from 1988 to 2011, PPAEO grew from 3 small clinics to 6 locations, housing 8 health centers in Eastern Oklahoma and Arkansas. Services expanded from providing family planning services for women to a system that offered prenatal care, pediatrics, WIC, colposcopy and cryosurgery, treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, reproductive health services for males, and a reproductive health research department.
Nancy has also been a Board member of South Crest Hospital, a founder and previous Chair of Community Health Net, Inc., the Chair of a task force on prevention and wellness for a community-wide initiative called ‘Step Up Tulsa’, and currently serves on numerous committees and coalitions addressing health care needs in Oklahoma. She has also served on a number of committees and task forces within the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. Nancy's masters study was in Human Services, Family Life and Human Sexuality, and her undergraduate degree was in Sociology and Art. Nancy Kachel brings a wealth of relevant experience in business and not-for-profit administration to MultiGEN Diagnostics.
Craig Elliott. Director, Sales/Marketing S-E USA
After 10 years in the hospital arena Craig entered the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative, developing new markets with direct sales contacts. After 15 years, he earned distinctions as a National, Regional and District trainer as well as recognition awards for Divisional, Regional and National sales performance. Promoted to Regional Product Specialist for the southeast United States, Craig was appointed to the Marketing Advisory and Brand Strategy and Tactical teams. He completed the Leadership Development program for Sepracor Pharmaceuticals where he was chosen to develop new hires and assist in improvement of the Managed Care market. Craig was a top 5% sales performer in the United States pharmaceutical industry for the last 10 years.
